The first phase of simulator updates involves updating the major simulator platforms, including the simulation computer, the instructor station, and the panel interface system.

Instructor Station Replacements

One of the more visible components of GSE’s software is powerful instructor stations that put the instructor in full command of simulator session management. These instructor stations provide a common graphical user interface for their instructor and operator views. Using state-of-the-art technology and a design approach of extensive, forward-thinking simulation user inputs, JStation (Java-based) delivers flexibility and ease of use to meet all your needs.

JStation provides a complete range of features to control and monitor your simulator. It allows you to set up a training session by choosing the initial plant starting conditions and configuring various equipment changes to occur during the training session. This may be done by direct instructor actions, or by running a predefined automated plant procedure.

As most nuclear power plant simulators worldwide are reaching 30+ years of age, input/output (I/O) system replacements are becoming more common.
