These sites will be used for combined construction and operating licenses applications with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. The two sites selected were Grand Gulf, near Port Gibson, MS and Bellefonte, near Scottsboro, AL. The sites will require several hundred skilled professionals to operate the units. Mr. Jennings said the nuclear industry is already on the verge of a workforce labor shortage due to the decline in recruiting during the 1980's and early 90's. The construction and operation of two new units will only add to that pressure.
